Jamilyn D’Avola’s downfall as a sure-win incumbent in this election is the inevitable consequence of her fateful decision to betray her alliance with the unyielding champion for children, Ivy Liu, in favor of the dubious benefits of cozying up to the D49 Cabal- consisting of the 14-year failure of a superintendent Peter Hilts; the unelected sixth board member and lawyer/consigliere/mobster Brad Miller; and the unconscionable board president Lori Thompson, whose “Christian conservative” voting record against children and education rivals that of the most ardent progressive.
By defending and perpetuating 14 years of academic failure and lawlessness under the same regime, D’avola morphed into a Thompson-mini and lost sight of the children she swore to protect, by straying from her moral compass, shattering her sacred oath, and selling her soul for scraps.
D’Avola and Thompson are sell-outs. As of election night, D’Avola was trailing liberal union-backed candidate Holly Withers by roughly 30 votes—a candidate with minimal educational credentials and emphasis on activism rather than academics. The margin has now fluctuated to about 16, and Ms D’avola did not press for a re-count.
Let’s be honest: D’avola likely never wanted another term to begin with, as evident by her own statement of “one and done.” The massive influx of developer money to her campaign was clearly about one thing—keeping Ivy Liu out, because they know Ivy can be TRUSTED to come in and drain the swamp.
One will never know the answer, but what would these numbers look like without the coordinated smear campaign against Ivy Liu, timed precisely with ballot drop weekend? How many voters were discouraged, disgusted, or stayed home because of blatant, politically motivated character attacks? WHO paid for the smear campaign?
And how much stronger would D’Avola’s position have been if she
had actually fought for students—rather than aligning with Thompson, rubber-stamping failures, and chasing political favor? The cost has been enormous; integrity and trust are far harder to rebuild than they are to destroy. We KNOW for a fact that was the only reason Liu ran- lesser of two evils in the race is still evil.
Liu did not split the conservative vote. She exposed the lies that D49 has been hiding for years from the public, and inexcusably by complicit board members. She’s been denied yet again the chance to enact the critical reforms she began pushing for in 2021. It’s a deep, deep swamp. D’avola, and of course conscience-less Thompson, are complicit.
Liu’s race was obliterated by a vicious, district-wide smear onslaught not limited to her voter base. An investigation is underway to find out if D49’s overdrawn general fund paid for this witch hunt—just like the $30,000 pulled in 2022 to silence Liu for questioning financial irregularities, which was smeared as “disruptive” and “creating a negative culture.”
And not a chirp from these two “deeply faithful“ Christian conservatives about the unethical smear campaigns, past or present, intended to dismantle and sabotage Liu’s attempt to clean up the swamp, and her current candidacy.
For fourteen years, this district has operated to protect Hilts/Miller’s duo-mob Cabal that has maintained a chokehold on oversight, accountability, and transparency. With the two current incumbents firmly under their thumbs, they were going to sabotage to extremes to prevent Liu’s planned reforms.
Investigation will also examine the striking similarities between the campaign smear-texts and board member Mike Heil’s hostile, contemptible social-media rants- clear violations of board conduct policy and ignored by the Thompson and D’avola as President and VP.
D’Avola’s own timid demeanor and equivocal stances sealed her fate. It should be a screaming wake up call for an incumbent to lose an election by 16 votes to an unknown challenger who is a Teachers’ Union bot and a LGBTQ activist with scant public education experience and credentials.
Incumbent Lori Thompson reeked out a sliver of a win by 60 votes over a meek challenger, also a Teachers’ Union bot. Will Thompson be too narcissistic to learn from this wake up call?
A 60-vote margin is an embarrassment for any incumbent. Voters are far smarter than the Useful idiots give them credit for. The message couldn’t be clearer: betray our children, vote like a progressive while masquerading behind “faith,” and expect a seismic reckoning.
The entire board’s willful blindness to serious financial discrepancies—amounting to tens of millions—represents a spineless abdication of duty, if not outright criminal negligence.
Reportedly, Liu confronted D’Avola about the board’s grave dereliction, only to be dismissively told to stay out of the race. D’avola went as far as accusing Liu’s run as a “grudge against the district.” Maybe Ms D’avola should have held more of a “grudge” against criminal and unethical activities in the district. Instead, she doubled down as a fierce guardian of incompetence and graft.
When elected officials capitulate and betray our children, Liu had no ethical choice but to enter the fray. D’Avola abandoned her own “one-and-done” promise in favor of morphing into a loyal apologist for failure, corruption, and smear campaigns.
Complacent, entrenched incumbents are the harbingers of systemic collapse. Liu’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and elimination of indoctrination struck a deep chord with the community, as evident by the 65% of the votes in 2021. But the criminals in D49 weren’t having it.
The mugshot weaponized in the smear campaign originated from an unjust, unsubstantiated arrest that was never charged, swiftly dismissed, and sealed by the court. History nearly repeated itself just two weeks ago, when Lori Thompson sent a police officer to Liu’s home to investigate alleged vandalism, Yemi-style, of ONE of her campaign signs without any probable cause.
The short-staffed police cannot answer real emergency calls in the community but found time to visit Ms. Liu. Witch hunt again? Was another arrest suppose to come of yet another allegation by Thompson and her fellow Useful Idiots?
But I digress.
Short-sighted observers may fret over a progressive takeover of the board—already underway with anti-American chums like Mike Heil and Marie LaVere-Wright, who flaunts her “faith” in stark contradiction to her voting record, vying with Thompson for the title of most convincing “wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing.”
But We the People, this Citizens Watch group, will rely on public airing and recalls of every move by this board to keep our children safe from sold-out Christian conservatives and radical leftist on the board.
Let this be a warning to every board member: every vote that advances more progressive agendas at the expense of our children—or that enables financial mismanagement—will be met with organized wrath. Do right by the kids. Regardless of your political affiliation, stop the rape of D49 by the long-standing criminal Cabal.
This election was no aberration; it was a warning shot across the bow. Tamper with our children’s future, and consequences will follow—though perhaps less severe than the millstone promised by divine justice. You’ve wakened up too many warriors.
